My Ladder Poem by priscah Mutswenje

My Ladder

KICD, our ladder to my desired success
Your stairs are friendly and easy to access
You wake me up from my thin mattress
And give me a golden and fresh gate pass

Your love for us is more that of mothers
Your passion for pure souls is above our fathers
With a friendly pace your fly holding peace under feathers
How my heart burns for you, KICD

You build our names and frame our faces daily
With a curriculum that draws dreams truthfully
Through core values, milestones and units so holly
I know what a great citizen should be, fully

KICD, you care and mold my hidden creativity
I play, plant, and plan using your wise passivity
You worry about my future as a citizen in naivety
How I freely and happily walk lab and learning festivity

KICD beats every possible obstacle in our way
Improving the syllabus to that which gives us a say
In your hands is a gift that I long for every day
Dressing me with the skills and the voice at no pay

KICD, how I wish to touch your hands
And feel this warmth you spread
You care about our talents and wants

Your package is full of self sufficiency
Chanced with ability, creativity and competency
You give us a reason to see the IT and fitness urgency
In books and class you guide us through efficiency

You make us global through what we learn
Citizens who fit in all regions in class we scan
At national levels we compete with such fun
KICD, you are a golden treasure that rates us one
