My Lady Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

My Lady

Rating: 5.0

When first I beheld you
You were dressed all in grey
With white lace to relieve the dullness
When next I saw you
You were in shades of green
From emerald to peridot
With threads of white in the darkest areas
I sat quietly beside you
When you wore blue
Sapphire to the palest, with silvery sheen
Yet with this, not a trace of white
I walked beside you silently
No matter which gown you wore
The colour depending upon your mood
Yet each beautiful in its' way
Now though, it's a final sad farewell
That I bid you, my lady, the sea.
