My Last Island Puro - Poem by E.J. Langley

The saddest room in Havana is the smoking lounge in the Varadero Airport

I haven't the energy even for distraction

Focused on my last island puro

The smoke won't bury her scent as the chatter won't dim her last goodbye

I'm leaving more than her behind

I'm leaving me

Topic(s) of this poem: goodbye, longing
