My Life - Poem by Don Paul

My Life

The snow flakes silently fall
With grace they touch the earth
They cover all things with a beautiful white
As a blanket after my birth

Now time is speeding up
Though only noticed in the end
Ignoring the heart felt pain
That it surely went out to send

This pain won’t go away
And time taught me to fail
The lines now show below the gray
Like a spear they do impale

The boats are still afloat
A peace they seem to keep
I envy their ability
To stay above the deep

Yet the sky is still so blue
As when I was a child
Still smiling at me so true
Telling me life is still worth while

The night sky still unveils the stars
There silence is golden and pure
So still and yet so moving
Their promise to return is sure

Eternity one day will call
It’s will at then will be
So beautiful is the thought
To be with Him in eternity
