My Life Flight Poem by Erika Mohr

My Life Flight

The nest is getting so fragile
And at the next wind blow,
Wings will spread and the flight will begin
But the fear makes me search
For my mothers’ wings
I try to take in the familiar feel
But she knows it’s my time and gives me a little push
She says she believes in me and will always be there
And as the nudge plunges me over my barrier,
To a whole new world I am not sure of,
I look back and see my mama
She has a look on her face full of faith
And as much as I want her to come with me
I know she’s right and I need to do this on my own
My life flight has just begun.
