My Little Fantasy Poem by Mary Jesusa Villegas

My Little Fantasy

You know how I love poems
My heart is a natural poet
In that world I can call you my own
Yet it seems fantasy had me imprisoned.

I can see it there, love bloom like a sunflower
Bright yellow, remarkable forever
Rescuing me from a fall pit, change is getting closer
Let faith and God bind us together.

It is now as wide and deep as the ocean
Waves washing away its mystery
Rushing, but preserving its purity
Sail away and you will see
How calm and blue it will be.

Birds took it with them as they fly
Clouds are clapping in the sky
Fears and regrets had a thousand cry
But will be forgotten as time goes by.

Still, a decision has to be made
Give up or give it all, my little fantasy should fade.
Or else like a tyrant will it overpower me
Making me a slave so I will never be free.

No matter how fascinating is my little fantasy
Reality has always its jealousy
Staying for awhile but won't be for so long
My mind and soul know where it truly belongs

This may be the last poem that I'll write
Indulgent, I'm taking my last bite
I see freedom, I see my Lord's light
I will sleep smiling, so contented tonight
