My Love - Poem by Ortiz Antwi

Love is the oldest of all emotions
That was what I felt when you began to crawl
Your convulsions made me fall
I have loved you since Adam was a boy
You raided and barricaded the threshold of my heart
Impaling my heart with pins, thorns and prickles were your hobbies; no lies about that
You hardened and tattered my heart leaving me on the horns of dilemma
You incarcerated and made me a slave to your love
My anger and malignancy like ice carps thaws spontaneously when I see you
My heart beats faster than that of a tired horse when I catch sight of you
My contemplations of editing you from my life becomes a weakness when I see you
Yes! Your appearance and splendor are beyond all comprehension as colors are beyond a person born blind
Your beauty is like an early petal of a delicate hibiscus daily flourished in a verdure
You make the sun and stars look like they are not shining
They say 'The flaws of every man is a woman' and you attest to this
Your love is inevitable and insurmountable a giant bows to it.
I love you a feeling a cannot subdue
I would jump off Noah's ark for you
Since I live and will die for you and I'll die smiling.

A lovely train of thoughts, well articulated and nicely encapsulated into a love poem. A good piece penned with conviction. Thanks sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply

This is a poem overflowing with emotions of the poet, specifically of LOVE. You can read, feel, and experience the different phases of love from the beginning to the end. From simply falling in love to being desperately in love... a feeling evolving and growing each time you are with that special person. A very well written one! (Report) Reply

You are ready to die smilingly for your love. Then she is not a flaw.

She is behind your achievements. Having matchless splendour, she raids your heart to see if anybodyelse is there. Very good poem on love
