My Love Poem by Dean Meredith

My Love

My love is imperfect
But I will always love you
I loved you then
I love you now
And this will continue on
My love is like the soul
It does not die
And yet it is unlike the soul
For it can live through many
Perhaps it is like the soul after all
If we believe in reincarnation
But it is different
Because I love all I've ever loved
As if time were almost irrelevant
As if love & time were continuums
I love all I've ever loved
Now, then & forever
And yet my love is imperfect
Because for all but one there was doubt
For all but one a lack of trust
Even for me this is true
I who I've loved above all but one
And now I know I'm right & wrong
I love myself & all I've loved
But one above all is indeed perfect
One above all has no doubt
One above all has complete trust
This is true & perfect love
This is what do you call it?
‘Unconditional love'
That is the love I have
And will always have for you
My daughter
