My Love Poem by Kev Elmer

Life, on this sunny day,
lights up a road thats one way.
You, right at the other end,
waiting for my love I'll send.

Twist, within this tale,
however this love wont get stale.
Defences, towering high,
Peering over I ask why?

Sunshine, transforms to haze,
this light has lost its rays.
Blackout, down this once lit street,
unable to find our place to meet.

Hurt, this pain will ease,
even if I get to you on my knees.
Light, it shines so bright,
heaven knows it feels right.
