My Many Wishes Poem by Anil Kumar Panda

My Many Wishes

I wish I could go to the valley
When the dawn is breaking slow
To watch millions drops of dew
Strewn, how like diamonds they glow

I wish I could sit by the stream
When the ray appears in the east
To watch its body sparkle as a
Strand of light ahead through the mist

I wish I could play with the sands
When it is time for dew to shine
To feel its coolness in my hands
And laugh as a shiver runs down the spine

I wish I could roll down a mound
When birds in play do the same
To feel like a boy of twelve who
Is busy enjoying all alone a rolling game

I wish I could sing loudly a song
When it is time for me to return
To get ready to be busy in work
Till the sun rolls down to the horizon
