My Moon Poem by Juan Olivarez

My Moon

Rating: 5.0

There's a bright golden moon,
o'er the mountain high.
It will rise soon,
o'er the desert sky.

And I know it's the same moon,
I always behold,
In my home in the valley,
glowing like gold.

But are you the same?
there's a doubt in my mind.
and is that how I came,
to leave you behind?

did you follow me here?
are you looking for me?
to take me to where,
we both long to be.

Look at me I am here,
you have found me at last,
your'e the one I hold dear,
please don't leave me so fast.

Take me with you tonight,
I beg of you please,
to our home, which the sight of,
fills us with ease.

Oh beautiful moon,
please hear my plea,
because i'm afraid soon,
I'll lose my sanity.

If i can't go with you
I'm praying that soon,
you'll come back and take,
this lost soul to the moon.

4/29/10 29 palms ca.
