My Most Trusted Friend Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

My Most Trusted Friend

I follow you, a silent friend,
From morning sun to day's soft end.
I stretch and shrink, a dark design,
Reflecting every move of thine.

I saw you learn to walk and play,
A wobbly gait, a joyful way.
I saw you skin your knee and cry,
Then bravely wipe a tearful eye.

I saw you dream beneath the moon,
And wake to find a brighter noon.
I saw you laugh, a happy sound,
And leap across the sunlit ground.

I saw you wonder, look, and learn,
As pages of your life did turn.
I saw you stumble, fall, and rise,
With questions in your curious eyes.

I am the echo of your grace,
The silhouette of time and space.
Your story whispers, soft and low,
And in my dark, you truly grow.
