My Need For Music Poem by Edwina Reizer

If you wish to hear music within your ear
you must quiet yourself inside.
For all the dissonance surrounding this world
will have you try to decide.
'Do I want to be part and parcel of this
or refrain from all of it? '
I've decided at this stage of my life
to finally admit
that my days should be filled with song
and anything else that confronts me
is just thundering noise that's wrong.
All else will have to vacate my ears
lest my spirit disappears.
