My Other Half

Never saw stars fall so fast
until the day I looked into your eyes.
Noticed them when I found the disguise
and i looked past the mask of little white lies.
Day by day I fade into view
and fall even more in love with you.
You write down lines of second halves.
We are convinced that we're made for each other.
We have so many feelings for one another.
But baby, believe me when I say
you inspire me every day.
They say you're nothing but a simple mistake.
Slowly, your façade begins to break.
They don't notice how much you give
and try so hard just to live.
We're happiest with time on our side,
we throw our plastic smiles aside,
finding no more reason to hide.
As one, we're beings no longer for rent,
no longer taking pain as payment.
In the name of love you were sent
to save me from my lonliness.
I hope one day I'll return the favor
to help, to cure, to rescue my savior.
