Never have I seen,
Such a beautiful queen.
Your arms around a lion's head,
No fear that he might not have fed.
Oh sure he looks small and cute,
Until he bites right through your boot.
Still that purring little leopard cub,
Looks grateful for his tummy rub.
He rakes your arms with his claws,
And takes your fingers in his jaws.
No wonder you smiled,
Each a child, each so wild.
This time with your feline friend,
Will never ever end.
Just look at the photos every day,
And remember how you both did play.
The black panther bruised your eye,
I guess he didn't want to say goodbye.
Just take care when they're older,
In case they try to taste your shoulder.

Playing with these animals when they are quite young is a very enjoyable experience....... But when they grow older, the situation changes and one has to handle them with care and caution! Your highly rhyming poems are a delight to read, ..... Stephen!
Thank you Valsa, I once played with a tiger cub and suddenly realized two of my fingers had disappeared into its mouth...it was a few long seconds before I got them back.
