My Raven Poem by Sven Rhoads

My Raven

Rating: 4.0

On the hour of my very last breath
I lay upon the frozen ground
With no fear, I welcome my death
As the black birds circle around

Blood stains my cold wintry steel
As look deep into the sky
Still I clinch my fists to feel
Until my raven stands at my side

Holding on until there is no doubt
The final breath is seeping out
To be chosen amongst the slain
My raven comes to call my name
When they come for my soul to claim
I will reunite with that eternal name
Without any fear, it's time to let go
And let my raven guide my soul

My dearest one, do not shed a tear
I know that you cannot join me now
You have so much more life to live
So don't let the tears leave you hollow

In the farthest reaches of the north
We will meet again to share our tales
All of our lives we've proven our worth
And the immortal love shall never fail

My raven will come to you
My presence will always be near
One day my love we'll call you home
And we'll embrace, smiling ear to ear
