My Refuge Poem by Richard Jarboe

My Refuge

Here I am in refuge,
Here I am in fortress,
There's no snare, no deluge,
That's my confession.

Covered in feathers,
With a heart made of wings,
Beyond all measures,
Of what tomorrow brings.

Faith is my shield,
Terror can't touch me,
My enemies yield,
To the power above me.

No stalkers in the the dark,
No plagues, no lie,
No army can murder me,
No matter how hard they try.

Lord is my protection,
My hook-up connection,
The source of my salvation,
All in perpetual motion.
