I needed a reminder
Of who I am inside
I forgot what was true
And got lost in a lie

So I asked God for guidance
And found it in a dream
I heard his voice, he called my name
And this is what he said to me

You have your father’s heart
And your mother’s eyes
You fall too fast
And hold on too tight

You don’t care too much
About what others think
And you find beauty
In everything

You guard your heart
And build your walls
But I’ll pick you up
Whenever you ever fall

You’ll get off your path
But you will return
You still have some lessons
To be learned

But I’ll always remind you
Of who you are inside
Whenever you forget what’s true
And get lost in a lie
