My Savior Poem by Katheryn Foley

My Savior

I cut so deep inside my vein,
Every night used to the pain,
Never guessed I'd end up like this,
Nobody ever cared dark cold lips I kissed,
The hurt got so bad I ran away with a knife,
Attempting suicide to end my life,

A spark of fire caught my eyes,
The flame was so bright I could not hide.

Stopped in my tracks,
Forced me to turn back,
That night I survived,
Stepping through broken glass,
Now I know its all in the past,

I start to step forward with your hand guiding me,
Longing for the future where we can be free.
