My Simple Life Poem by DAVID TERRY

My Simple Life

My days are filled with simple tasks
Sleep, chores, work, do not ask
What hides behind the mask

That I wear for the world to see
Who it is to be like me
Hidden behind my bondage free

Get up, get ready, go to run
Breakfast, lunch, evening fun
My thoughts of you that leave me none

Breathe in, breath out, heart beats
Each successful day retreats
Into the next and then repeats

I fill each day with tasks I win
Things I complete just to begin
Constant regret, my plight of sin

One glance into the sky so blue
And feeling sunlight loving true
Blue sky like eyes so much like you

I'm carried back to yesterday
Before I filled my tasks today
Back when I only yearned to say

How I feel so empty without your touch
And I've never felt a love as such
Or loved a heart like yours so much
