My Sister, Your Lover Poem by Michelle Dickson

My Sister, Your Lover

She held you up
but you let her fall,
so don't come back in a crawl.

You let her fall
and just watchen in pain
as you knew it would happen again.

You watched in pain
and yet you did the same
as many, many times before.

So before you crawl,
why don't you take a fall
and see how that pain feels.

I won't let you
near her again.
I will not stand by
in the shadows.

My sister.
That she will always be.
Your lover.
That has ended, I can see.

So sister dear
hold your head high
because I would dearly love
to see you once again fly.
