I have a little picture
Deep inside my heart.
Of what my slice of heaven
Will be when I depart.
When the world gets to be too much
It’s to my slice of heaven that I go.
I see it in my head.
And the calm begins to sow.
In my slice of heaven
There is a meadow in the wood.
Where sits a little cabin
Where forever it has stood.
My meadows full of flowers
Tall grass that I lay on.
And listen to the sounds of spring
The stress of life is gone.
I hear the sound of water
Coming from the stream.
And hear the song of redbirds
As I lay there and I dream.
That’s my little slice of heaven
For me and my family
There’s always room for more
If you want to come join me.
