My Sparrow Poem by William McGehee

My Sparrow

Oh sparrow, my sparrow,
As swift as an arrow,
To where do you swoop and soar?
“Oh away, far away” My sparrow did say.
“To nowhere you’ve been to before”.

“Oh tell, please do tell’
I started to yell,
But my sparrow could no longer hear me.
For off like a dart
My sparrow did start
And then he was no longer near me.

“Oh sparrow, my sparrow,
As swift as an arrow,
Oh how I want to swoop and soar
To Away Far Away”
I heard myself say,
“To Nowhere I’ve Been to Before”.
