Stairway, you are mine
Beneath my feet
your vertical distance
imprinted
through my firm step's belief
You are the riser
My motion's equalizer
Your winder maze
withstands my existential weight
(Yet both of your ends repel to carry
my curious mind's weightlessness)
Every tread you share
elevates my heart's stillness
You let me go up the past
to find myself going down the future
I can fall
when I ascend;
I can rise
when I descend
for you are always there
to bear my ‘ups and downs'.
Know that you are mine, my stairway....
