My Sun Poem by Ena Di Rocco

My Sun

Was it just a flirt,
that brought me this hurt?
I'm not sure of my pain,
or who I will blame.

Who would have guessed,
That I've a hole in my chest.
I needed the fear,
for the voice I had to hear.

I never thought you would be coming back,
so I kept living in the black.
But my sun shined,
and freed my mind.

You said you would protect me,
so why'd you leave?
I thought our love was strong,
I guess I was wrong.

A clean break,
it would heal soon.
But what is this ache,
I'm feeling since the new moon?
