My True Friend Poem by Shel Don

My True Friend

Every time I was down n stood with a frown,
You took the job of a clown.
You picked me up when I had a fall,
Thought me how to stand tall.
In those gloomy days you replaced the sunshine and made me feel all is fine,
Who wouldn't want a sun who could shine bright even in the night at nine? You stood by me through every tough round and curve,
A ferry to my goals you always serve.
There were times when I thought I couldn't go further and had to settle with what I had rather,
You thought me then to negotiate my bound,
Helped me fly above the ground!
When for myself I had to fend,
You gave me courage so that I wouldn't bend.
You were always there with me through the good and the bad,
Through when I was happy n when I was sad.
Stood with me when nothing was right,
Until it vanished out of sight.
It doesn't matter how near or far you are,
You've never considered the distance bar.
You made a heaven on earth for me,
Wish you to be with me for eternity!
