O my pachyderm trundles along
The walkway with her glances
looting the eyes of watchers
In a single sweep as the elephants do
of plantain trees and sugarcane crops
With their trunks strong and long.
I was standing with my umbrella
In drizzling rains in the side of the road.
The elephantine eve moved along the road
Caring not a bit for the rains or the drains.
"Need you morning walk in rains? " I queried.
She just smiled and passed along the way.
In the days following shecame there walking
at right time and smiled at me with luring looks
to book me into her heart brimming with
Voluptuous appeals, took my hands
And pulledme intothetea - stall nearby
And gave orders for twocups of tea.
I pleaded with her to leave me forthwith
As I had to catch my usual bus.
From the next day onwards, no one could find me there
As I changed my place to board my bus.
