My Words - Poem by Zoe Callender

I'm waiting
for the day to come.
I'm waiting
for you to stick to me like gum.
I'm waiting
until I go dumb.
I'm just sitting here.
I'm watching
all the days fly by.
I'm watching the clouds in the sky.
I'm watching
until the day I die.
I'm just sitting here.
I'm thinking
of all the pain flowing through me.
I'm thinking
how I can make 'I' into 'we'.
I'm thinking
I'm just sitting here.
I'm loving
you every second of the day.
I'm loving
in every motion every way.
I'm loving
and I am going to stay.

And my last words before I die will be:
'I'll just be sitting here.'
