My Words Sting Poem by Maya Hanson

My Words Sting

The more I say
the more I laugh
My words sting your heart
Like a piercing blade
Or sticking your hand out the window
going eighty miles an hour
in the freezing rain
Like rocks being pitched
at your faraway mind
As I snap at you
My heart breaks, same as yours
My words sting…
break while spoken
Me and you
But there will soon be no
Me and you
My words sting
My words sting you and I laugh
While your words freeze before they reach your open mouth
I laugh again
and my heart stops breaking
As I move
from good to evil
Light to dark, it’s
now or never
and my words sting
