My World Poem by Steven Polinsky

My World

My personal World is an ever changing one, as is the Universe.

The movements of my atoms, the ebb and flow of water, and the constant ticking forward of my time

My world is self contained amidst the corners of my body and mind
My gravitational pull keeps me somewhat centered, yet, I have moments of weightlessness…When stability eludes me and elements, seemingly out of my control, cause personal storms and turbulence

I know my world is not alone, it contains other worlds
Each with dimensions I have yet to discover

I am forever seeking paths in and out of the territories beyond my simple vision
Each day, each moment, presents glimpses, new vistas to reach for; unknown areas to explore

My vision, at times, becomes clouded, liquid wells up in my eyes and distorts my view. I am momentarily blinded and simple clarity seems un-attainable

I wipe the uncertainty from my eyes, and once again, as a periscope, poised to rotate its singular eye 180 degrees, I search for signs of my life

Ever vigilant, focused, as much as humanly possible, I continue to explore.
Follow each granule of slipping time with varied human reactions and emotions: impatience, anticipation, passion, denial, assurance, positive and negative energy, excitement, and yes, sometimes despair!

In the changing moment to moment flickers of time…each experience brings a new perspective and carries tiny grains of endless wisdom.
