Myriad Ways Of Life Poem by East Sea Fairy Xing Yi

Myriad Ways Of Life

How many times must one fall
before he can stand as a tree standing tall?

How many winds and rains must a tree bear
before it can face the heart-eating termites without fear?

How many hot pots must a family of termites undergo
before a pair of bird’s wings they can grow?

How far must a bird fly
to avoid being caged in its life.

How can a cage obtain liberty?
and get the beast in its heart stuck in?

A beast can roar till ranges of high mountains appear
and in a tsunami they instantly will disappear
