Mystery Of Desire Poem by Midifo Yearns

Mystery Of Desire

We lay once more together on our sacred bed
Holding hands and minds, wondering quietly
If we can stay with desire and hold it, as
Lovingly as we do, each other’s hands.

We’ve shared so much, and now we feel
Desire, burning, churning, gently kissing
Our inner fears, caressing sweetly our longing
For communion, to hold each other close

And share so much more of life within,
Deeply inside that greater love, of which
This is only a very small but precious part.
And so we lay together on our sacred bed

And breathe as one, the fragrance of each other’s
Perfumed longing, for God, for life, for love.
And thus we help each other wait, with
Patient expectation, ever deepening desire.

Fulfillment is always gift; life, endless gratitude.
And so we wait, just holding hands and wondering
If we can stay with this desire and reverence its power
Until that day when we are one with all, in all, forever.
