Mysty... Poem by RIC BASTASA

Mysty...

an elephant
is riding on a cow
a tree is
uprooted and
its roots
the day after
gave flowers
the snakes are
at play with the
cats
the sea is kissing
the moon
fire turns to
ice
the black moon
is eclipsed
rivers froze
ice melts
there are houses
flying in the air
birds cut their beaks
wanting to
stop their singing
we see angels
now
peddling in the streets
saints weave
their embroideries
on soldiers' hats
women becoming men
and children
becoming old without
passing
puberty

all these,
we know
arrived in time
for what me could
still do

believe and unbelieve
rise inorder to fall
die inorder to live
