N'Kosi Sikelele Afrika (And A Little Parody) - Poem by Margaret Kollmer

Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika
Maluphakanyisw’uphondo lwayo
Yizwa imithandazo yethu
Nkosi sikelela,
thina lusapho lwayo.

Morena boloka setjhaba sa heso
O feditse dintwa le matshwenyeho.
O se boloke, O se boloke
Setjaba sa heso
Setjhaba sa South Afrika.

Uit die blou van onse hemel
Uit die diepte van ons see
Oor ons ewige gebergtes
Waar die kranse antwoord gee

Sounds the call to come together
And united we shall stand
Let us live and strive for freedom
In South Africa, our land.

Couldn’t resist this little parody……….

Nkosi speculates on Africa
Many pack for Perth or Dollar pay-o
Yizman they’ve no tande, gone where to?
Nkosi, speculate do
Tina Lusaka nou toe!

Morogo baloni, come and eat hierso
Such a festive dinner, all the mash will go.
Oh such baloni, garlic, herbs and oh
Sechaba sa Msimang
Sechaba sa po..ta…to.
