Naked Or Nude? Poem by Dan Byron

Naked Or Nude?

Rating: 1.8

Within the general Spanish usage there is one word that describes
The concept of being in one’s birthday suit. “Desnudo” sends vibes
That state, desnudo doesn’t care as long as your clothing isn’t there
We have two words, they have one, it doesn’t seem at all fair.

When I retire, I sleep nude and all is at peace and nearly sacred
If my daughters were to see me, they would find me naked.
Naked and nude become very plain for all to see,
One is a surprise to you, the other a planned event for me.

Much the same problem happens with words to describe the state of clothing
In English we have undressed which is a crude descriptor for disrobing.
In Spanish, “desvestido” is used if the clothes were ripped off in passion,
Or more sensuously removed. The effect is the same the method is the fashion.

Very intelligent discussion.
