Nalini, Water Lily Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Nalini, Water Lily

I am a water lily
I bloom in
Marshy lands
Away from
Lifeless deserts
Far gone from
Gardens grand

I do not want
Warm Sunshine
For moon
Is all I crave
A hidden swamp
Mountainside
I am no oceans
Slave

Not coloured
Red, pink or blue
Adorned in
Purest white
I am the
Unnamable hue
Fragrance
Is sweet and slight

Closer that you
Try to get
Further
I Drift away
I do not need
Such lovers
At dawn, who
Leave me, stray.
