Nature Poem by William Williams

Nature

Rating: 4.0

There's a beauty in nature,
That will always feel right,
When you go for a walk,
In the middle of the night,

When there's no sense of direction,
And only darkness fills your eyes,
When the lights are all dimmed,
And only instinct is your guide,

The scents of the flowers,
And the sap from the tree,
And the sound of little critters,
Walking on the leaves,

When fear takes over,
And your mind is racing,
And you feel less like a human,
And your inner animal plays,

When it feels like survival,
A struggle of life and death,
When it seems like a creature,
Watches your every breath,

And you simply push on,
Into that dark night,
And the animal inside,
Simply says 'It's alright'.

I love this poem. I really like how the emotions conflict and contrast. There's fear of the thing stalking you, but it also feels like there is some kind of joy in it. Idk. I thought it was interesting.
