Nature's Bounty Poem by ENOCH JOHN

Nature's Bounty

I look to the distant hills as an ochre sky offers itself,
To follow the winding arc of nature's trail away from the city's din,
With alacrity to scale the heights of Kilimanjaro, and breathe the thin clear air which is so pristine.
To come skiing down the Colorado slopes hearing the wind's exhiliration and triumph.
O to go for a swim in the cool, soothing waters of Maracas Bay or Malibu,
To look in awe at the creation, so beautiful and wonderful.
O to fish in the rivers and hunt the lappe, wild hog and deer,
In a sylvan wood where many a mythopoesis began of Dryad, Douen and Papa Bois.
To plant the maize and watch it germinate yielding its bountiful harvest,
And always marvel at Nature's bounty and her baskets of hope.

To a musical rhapsody, the wind whistles through the trees,
With its invisible conductor with perfection choreographing the production.
Nature has her own efficacy and her own special beauty.
In a moment's elation I can soar as an eagle and touch the sky,
Reaching out to embrace a new hope that's now attainable,
The distant echo in the hills becoming an echo in my own heart.
