Natures Calendar August 2016 Poem by Alison Gaff

Natures Calendar August 2016

The first of August was pleasant enough
Although the forecast predicts rain
Wonder if it will turn changeable
Or will the warmer weather remain

Some places had flash flooding
And houses got wash out
Everything was ruined
Making it hard to get about

Now the trees are changing colours
Turning leaves to reds and golds
There's fruits and nuts a plenty
Such rich pickings nature holds

By mid-month things have settled down
With temps above the norm
With this spell of warm moist air
We're bound to have a storm

I hear the far off thunder
And see the lightening flash
Then the rain comes pouring down
Pitter patter...... Splash
