The first time I saw her prancing down the street,
Lookin' Presidential from her head to her feet,
I could see by her gaze she was discreet,
She said, 'Howdy, I'm Necessity.'
'I'm a tone, a sound down below,
I got the roots of a tree,
If you stick around, I'm sure you'll agree,
I'm your Necessity.'
I move around like a cloud in the air,
In the Big Freeze, I'm your summer breeze,
If you happen to see me turn on a dime,
You're seeing Necessity.
I got my beginning, my middle and end,
When I get too heavy, knees got to bend,
I'm a lock-down in the land of the free,
I'm Necessity.
