Nelson Mandela The Hero Poem by Winston Harding

Nelson Mandela The Hero

Rating: 4.5

The doors slammed shut on aparthed in 1990
Nelson Mandela was freed, freed from confinement
And the people shouted; long live Mandela,
Long live freedom, truth and justice
As a system of injustice to the human soul was rejected.

Its all in my book
Need I say more here
The book Icons Reaching Out
Speaks clearly of his worth to humanity.

So, we lift our voices and celebrate his life,
The life of this man; one of the greatest leader
Of any generation. He goes, leaving the world a better place.
Bless his soul, as we salute the people of South Africa.

His family stood firmly beside a champion of generations.
His legacy fills with greatness.
So, to you who are on the path of learning,
Read his books, analyze his speech,
Get to an understanding of what is not given to man,
But what man lives by. Go in peace to your destiny,
Just like Nelson Mandela. His soul in peace rest.

Goodness and mercy to us all
We have come to behold greatness in this man's life
May you be caring and respectul to people of your land.
Let love reign supreme in your life.
Be bless.
