Neon Black Poem by Sven Rhoads

Neon Black

Here deep down in the black silence
I can see her face like a floating dream
Struggling with a life of self reliance
Sinking like a stone in a rushing stream

As the pain is reborn

I embraced the shadows instead of taking your hand
Does it make me less of a man
Does it make me immature
I follow the unpaved wilderness to find myself
When I knew that no one else
Could complete the circle in me

Drowning in the sea of flames I've created
To burn the weakness away
So far from the shore
I can never return
Floating in a state where I vibrated
The turmoil under my tongue
Drifting in forevermore
Eternally complete

Here in a dream forever falling
I can feel her touch like a razorblade
Soaked to the bone, neon black is calling
Look at the man I have made

And now she is gone

Threw my heart upon a pyre
My ancient soul wont be a liar
I cannot compromise
As the tears fall from your eyes
You watch me fade into the night
As we both disintegrate
