Never Again Poem by Terry Hicks

Never Again

I open my eyes for you to see inside
And as you look my soul an open book
The pain you sense is all too real
The one you see cannot feel
This body is numb brain is dumb
But the soul can feel and his eyes are real
He opens up blackness inside
His life reviled you get chills
He closes his eyes and forgets this world
He drifts away hoping this time he stays
Never again never again
Is all he thinks
Is this how his life will end
