The Choice Is Yours Poem by Terry Hicks

The Choice Is Yours

When you’re ready to quit
And you don't have the will to spit
Take your rhymes
Throw out all your lines
Build your skills
Remember your thrills
Learn to love
Forget how to hate
Note the date
Take on a new fate
No more running
Time to face your fears
Remember your tears
Lose your mask
Look at your task
The world is yours
So many open doors
So when you’re ready to quit
And you think it's your last trip
Remember the past
Start to run fast
And soon you'll see
Flesh, bone, and meat
Can’t hold you back
Let your soul fly
Head for the light
When you emerge a beautiful sight
You see you in a new way
Can you live to greet this day?
The choice is yours
No more closed doors
Do you have the will?
Do you possess the skills?
Open your eyes
To beautiful skis
You are alive
Do you choose to die?
The choice is yours
Remember your open doors
If you can't
Then close your eyes, spin, and walk
Call your friends have a talk
Soon you'll see
How easy it can be
You’re on your path
No tricks or deadly traps
The choice was yours
Did you walk through your open door?
