Never Enough Poem by Micronjan Ivers

Never Enough

I give my best, then give some more,
Yet somehow I'm still asked for more.
No finish line, no "you've done enough, "
Just moving goals and standards rough.

They say, "We see you, we appreciate, "
But praise doesn't pay when raises wait.
The words feel light, they fade too fast,
While effort drains me to the last.

I try so hard, I bend, I break,
For promises they never make.
I wonder when "enough" will be true,
Or if enough was never me—but you.

I'm fed up now, I'm tired, worn,
Of proving worth every single morn.
I work so hard, yet still I see,
I'm giving more than they give me.
