Never Fall In Love With A Monster! Poem by Helena Alvarez

Never Fall In Love With A Monster!

I stare
Eyes blank, Empty
I seemed to be trapped
In A Dream it seems, trapped
I close my eyes
And Scream at her
'What Are You? '
A Face so breathtaking-Now is gone
Hair so glorious-Are now tangled snakes
Eyes so warm-Will now leave you as stone
The poison is sinking in
Barely breathing
My pulse is quickly slipping away
Choking, I stare at what I use to love
Everythings gone wrong
What have you done to me?
Your haunting has frozen me cold
I cant believe what you did
Your a monster, just like Stheno and Euryale
You will burn in the fires of hell
I promise you darlin' Medusa
For one day you will Suffer in pain
And No one else will fall under your haunting spell
This will be a story that everyone will hear
When your gone and we have nothing else to fear...

Nice allusions to mythology. Great metaphor here to contemporary love gone cold. Great write.
