I used to believe in forever,
The word that promises love will end never,
A time when our spirits can never sever,
The place where our words ring forever truer...

But never comes forever...
We only have today...
Where always paradise comes surer...
When our promises find their way...

Now I promise never forever...
I’ll just pledge always today...
Today’s always our heart’s best offer...
Forever’s never ours to give away...

So I’ll believe always in today,
The time we can make certain love will stay,
A place where our souls surely find their way,
The pledge that sees us through the end of each day...
