Never Had - Poem by Christopher Taber

Heres to all the relationships I never had
Its thoughts like this that make me sad

Here’s to all the people I never met
Here’s to the friends I never made
And here’s to the lovers that I never laid

To all the people I never met
I’ll miss the his and hellos we never had
The chit chat about this and that
The smiles and the nods

To all the friends I never made
I’ll miss the mischief we never made
And the trouble we never got into
I’ll miss the rides and the high fives
The dinners and the deals

To all the lovers I never laid
I’ll miss you the most
I’ll miss the toasts and the perfect nights we never had
I’ll miss the words we never needed
And the way you made me feel
