Never To Forget Poem by Terry Donovan

Never To Forget

'Don't put flowers on my grave each day
Or cry into your pillow every night.
Just think of me when I am gone away
And know that where I am I'll be all right.

And even though I won't be there with you,
Enjoy your freedom, mingle with the crowd.
Do all those things you've always wanted to,
Do all those things you know would make me proud.

You'll never have to prove your love for me,
And such a love will never ever end.
Just treat me as a precious memory
To spend some time with when you need a friend.'

He knew he had no future now and yet
Those words he vowed he never would forget.
