New Beginning Poem by Ndina Kamaro Muofhe

New Beginning

Dancing stars singing in humble tones
Walls of a house that has fallen, were rebuild
A new home for the prodigal children
When they return from the wilderness
In the silence of the storms, a moment so serene was begotten
Scars from violent tides were like footprints on the rocks
And when stories were narrated,
They became streets where the legends walked
The new era came like a candle light
It's flames became a hope of the lost in the jungle
And when thorns began to blunt,
So much pain was felt by the soul
For, it hurts more when it begins to heal
It was a long sail on waves of scary seas
Many drowned and never returned
The few lived to tell the tale
By the shores, it was a moment of triumph
For, it was the dawn of what they longed for long,
The new beginning! ! ! !
